  1. Okay, lots I want to know about this! For example who was the "little bird" that dropped the berry so preciesly in the centre of the fungi -- lovely shot.

  2. The elves will be arriving soon for dessert. What kind of berry is that or is it a cherry? In which case it's a very large mushroom and the banquet will be for gnomes not elves.

  3. Where there are mushrooms there are fairies. And this proves it. Who else would be so clever??

I also like the way the shape and the splash of red work together to create the suggestion of *poppy*...

  4. Interesting angle, and I like the cherry (is it a cherry?) in the centre -- a touch of insouciance! Also love the textures here: the surface of the mushroom, of course, and the grass on one side and wood chips on the other, the glossy red fruit. The scalloped edges of the mushroom are so pretty. Overall it does give the effect of a flower with that dollop of red in the middle. What is the story behind this photo? Something you stumbled on? Or did you create it?

  5. A maraschino cherry! I like the stem, accentuating the shallow depth of field.
